Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is also an author. She founded The Huffington Post, is the CEO and founder of Thrive Global as well an writer of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington, a non-profit liberal news outlet and a TV host as well as a writer and an philanthropist. Originally from Greece she came to England when she was just 16 and then graduated at the age of 16 from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. Being the first non-English-speaking student to graduate, she was voted as president of The Cambridge Union' at the age of 21. After graduation she made her impression as an editor for a conservative newspaper and when the publication of The Huffington Post' few months later, she created an online platform for voice that offered critical observations regarding the current political situation. Arianna was able to attract several prominent contributors who posted their thoughts on culture and politics. Arianna became famous in 2003, when she ran independently in a recall contest in California in order to take over the position of Governor Davis. Alongside this, she managed a Detroit initiative to encourage fuel efficient cars. The project was named 12th on Forbes's list of the most influential women in media. In the same year, Guardian listed her among the 100 top media figures. The year 2011 saw AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made her the head of that media unit, which comprised of many existing AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos the journalist and a management consultant. While she was closely associated with her father, it was the bond she had with her mother that formed her character. She showed leadership traits throughout her childhood. In her 16th year, she began studying in the United Kingdom at Girton College Cambridge. She joined the Cambridge Union college debate society throughout her college years in which she became the third and first female to hold the position of president. In 1972, she graduated with an MA in Economics. Following her graduation, she was employed as a critic for a newspaper column and as a host on television. In addition, she was a part of the show Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books taking editorial help from him.
